RED CROSS

At Thames Valley College, the Red Cross Society imparts in our students the value of life and good health, as well as inculcating in them, knowledge and life-saving skills.

It also aids in promoting humanitarian activities that help to preserve human dignity and peace.

Our main focus is on providing First Aid to accident victims in their surroundings. We also train and orientate students on disaster management.

SPORTS

Sports in Thames Valley College play a pivotal role in our vision to produce the Total Child. Playing a sport is a great way for students to take a break from the rigours of academics and release pent-up energy. Aside Sport’s physical benefits, it also helps in the mental, physiological, psychological and social development of students. This is why sports is a compulsory co-curricular activity for all our students, either for recreational or competitive purposes.

SPORT FACILITIES

Acknowledging the relevance of sports, Thames Valley College devotes resources to establishing a superb sports complex with matchless structures. Our Multi-Purpose Sports Complex houses an extensive range of indoor and outdoor facilities that cater for a wide range of sporting activities such as Table tennis, Chess, Scrabble, gym activities, Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Athletics, Hand ball, Soccer, Basketball, Recreational and competitive Swimming. The College has a standard and a young teenager swimming pool with an experienced swimming instructors and life guards.

The college also organizes an annual inter-team sports competition that is unmatched anywhere for its colour and excitement. Sports in Thames Valley College is essential to students’ life to create happiness, develop character, build traits such as self-confidence and self-esteem, manage emotions, discipline, social skills, teamwork and leadership skills. Most importantly, it promotes physiological benefits such as reduced risk of obesity, increased cardiovascular fitness, healthy growth, strengthens the lungs, reduces blood sugar levels, regulates blood pressure, improves co-ordination and balance, helps prevent cancer and improves sleep. In all, sports improve the cognitive and memory functions of the brain, helping students perform better in academics. As such, the college is committed to making sports available to all.

CODING AND ROBOTICS

The universe has indeed become a small village. Our children today, compete with the Chinese, Americans, Russians, Koreans and Indians for the available resources in the global village to survive and thrive in the 21st century.

Education in South Korea, Singapore, and Sweden and generally in the continent of Europe and America are now 100% digital since 2013. Therefore, education in Nigeria and indeed Africa has no choice but to embrace wholeheartedly Digital Educational System. This will give them the FUTURE SKILLS requisite for survival in the information technology century.

We ensure our students carry out a termly project based training to make them develop skills for the future such as Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Drone Technology and other new tech. as they evolve.
