It was an educative and interesting time out on air at SMOOTH FM 98.1 on Friday, 14th April, 2016 when the Principal, Mrs Ogechi Ekpe accompanied by four students, Lolia Okujagu, Ayomide Adeoti, Nathaniel Samuel and Kelechukwu Egbule were interviewed by the On Air Personality Shola Thompson.

It was an inspiring session as the Principal talked about her journey so far in her career and ensuring that the girl child gets the best education and enjoys gender equality. She spoke about how supportive Thames Valley College has been to this cause especially hosting the recently concluded STEMMA Hands-on Empowerment-SHE Initiative program funded by  the Christopher Kolade Foundation for eight days. The SHE-Initiative was a camp attended by 56 girls from six different public schools who were enlightened in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Music and Agriculture field. The girls had so many memorable experiences- some designed their own games while some made electrical alarm systems. Others learnt unforgettable lessons on leadership and moral ethics.

Kelechukwu Egbule brilliantly responded to the question on challenges of the girl child while Nathaniel Samuel added that learning in TVC is both interesting and fun in a world class conducive environment.

Indeed it was an impactful outing and the TVC Community appreciates all listeners especially our parents that tuned in.
